The eighth edition of the Vertical Montserrat will take place on Saturday, May 16, at the Montserrat massif, aiming to raise funds for pediatric disease research.

This race, part of the National Vertical Race Circuit, challenges participants to climb 2,180 steps along the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya funicular tracks. The 2026 edition was officially presented with support from Interior Minister Núria Parlon and former Barça player Bojan Krkić.

"It is a benchmark race, not so much for how hard it is, which it is, but because it reaches many people."

The event highlights the Som Un Equip category, where teams of four donate 500 euros to the Bombers amb Causa project. General registration opens on March 18 via the official website.
