This triumph, the fourth consecutive at home, is as agonizing as it is vital for Covisa Manresa in the fight for permanence in Group 3 of the Segunda División B Futsal League. The Manresa side now totals 13 points, matching Bisontes Castelló, and leaves the penultimate spot to sit thirteenth, the first relegation position. Sant Quirze, meanwhile, has yet to score points in any of the 13 away games played.
The match, led by coach Jairo Molero, was a constant exchange of chances and goals from the initial whistle, with both teams desperate for points. The scoreboard reflected a 3-2 lead for the hosts in the first quarter of an hour. Despite good saves from the goalkeepers, Cella and Martí Puig, the dynamic remained open and high-paced until halftime.
Strengthening their position at Pujolet will be crucial in their goal of saving the category, although the challenge remains to score points away from home, where they have only managed one point.
The second half began with a penalty converted by Asis that made it 4-2, but Sant Quirze, coached by Àlex Navalón, reacted quickly. In less than four minutes, the visitors overturned the score with goals from Ferru, Gordillo (from a penalty), and Aitor, setting a dangerous 4-5 lead. Covisa had to play quickly and suffered the injury of Asis in the 29th minute.
With time running out, coach Jairo Molero opted for the power play (goalkeeper-player) at 2:55 remaining. When all seemed lost, Lozano broke through to connect with Héctor's cross and equalize with 40 seconds left. The frenzy was completed when, with 22 seconds to play, a sixth foul by Sant Quirze allowed Héctor to convert the double penalty, sealing the 6-5 victory and reversing the bad luck suffered in the first half of the season.
