The defeat of Bahçesehir College Istanbul against Umana Reyer Venice (94-85) this Wednesday has placed Baxi Manresa just one victory away from the second position in the group, which is key to avoiding the first playoff round.

The loss suffered by Bahçesehir by 94-85 on the court of Reyer Venice has significantly compressed the fight for second place. With Hapoel Jerusalem pulling away with nine victories, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana and the Turkish side remain tied with seven wins. Right behind them, Baxi Manresa is part of a triumvirate of teams with six victories, alongside Cluj and Aris.
Securing this second position is highly valuable as it grants exemption from the first knockout round of the Eurocup. However, it is essential to note that in the event of a tie in wins with Bahçesehir, the Turkish team holds the tie-breaker advantage, having defeated Manresa at the Congost by 67-81 (a 14-point difference).
In Italy, the Venetian team staged a major comeback in the second half, overcoming a thirteen-point deficit at halftime (29-42). Jordan Parks was the key player for the Veneto side with 30 points and a 34 efficiency rating. For the visitors, Malachi Flynn's 31 points were not enough. Reyer Venice now has five wins and is tied with Neptunas outside the play-off zone.
In other results affecting the top half of the table, U-BT Cluj-Napoca defeated Neptunas Klaipeda 118-97, featuring a spectacular performance by Mitchell Creek (40 points). Furthermore, Aris Thessaloniki Betsson secured a narrow victory against Veolia Towers Hamburg 89-92, also remaining in the chasing group alongside Baxi Manresa.
