Baxi Manresa secured its sixth win in the Eurocup regular season after a hard-fought victory against Slask Wroclaw, winning 90-96 in Poland. Diego Ocampo's squad demonstrated great character to overturn a score that had reached a 13-point deficit (49-36).
The win was made possible by the battle under the boards led by Pierre Oriola, the constant drive of Agustín Ubal, and the strong debut performance of newcomer Eli Brooks. Brooks, making his first appearance due to injuries to the starting point guards, took on playmaking duties alongside Max Gaspà.
After a first half where the Polish side, led by Noah Kirkwood and Kadre Gray, punished Manresa with free throws and a zone defense, Baxi reacted. A 0-5 run led by Ubal and Steinbergs reduced the gap, and a three-pointer from Brooks followed by one from Obasohan quickly dissolved the local 2-3 zone defense.
The turning point came in the final quarter when Oriola put Baxi ahead for the first time with a corner three-pointer (61-64). Despite a brief injury scare involving Oriola, Ubal took final responsibility with crucial baskets, sealing the victory and keeping their Eurocup options alive.
