This extraordinary resource figure, which Albert suggested would be closer to 5,000 than 4,000 million, is being negotiated trilaterally: the Government of Pedro Sánchez, the Generalitat of Salvador Illa, and ERC. The republican leader expressed confidence in a "good agreement" for Catalonia and requested support from the other investiture majority parties in the Congress.
“"We cannot eternalize the negotiations"
The crucial meeting to seal the deal is scheduled for this Thursday between President Sánchez and ERC leader Oriol Junqueras at the Moncloa Palace. Albert emphasized the need to accelerate the process, noting that a climate of "trust" has been established.
Beyond financing, ERC aims to make progress on two other issues during the meeting. Firstly, they seek a clear timeline for processing the law that would allow Catalonia to collect its own IRPF (Personal Income Tax), a bill introduced last autumn.
Secondly, the republicans want to finalize the creation of a Catalan consortium dedicated to monitoring the fulfillment of investments budgeted by the State in Catalonia, addressing a recurrent complaint about low execution rates.
