Vox has presented what it has dubbed a "total amendment" to the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), a measure that restricts the use of polluting vehicles in the vicinity of Barcelona and its metropolitan area. The party not only opposes the initiative but has also announced it will take legal action against the projects to implement the LEZ in seven municipalities surrounding the Catalan capital.
The municipalities affected by this legal battle that Vox will initiate are L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat, Manresa, Terrassa, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Mataró, and Sant Cugat del Vallès.
“"It is a measure that suffocates commerce and empties the pockets of those who have the least."
This statement was made by the president of the Municipal Group of Vox in Barcelona and party representative in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), Gonzalo de Oro, who stated that the measure has a negative impact on commerce and individuals with fewer economic resources.
