The agreement, driven by the Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, Sílvia Paneque, in coordination with the Ministry of Housing and the Manresa City Council, finalizes the efforts made to incorporate this building, which was unused, into the public housing stock.
Minister Paneque highlighted that "the Government's priority is to offer effective solutions to the housing emergency and to decisively increase the public housing stock". She added that the agreement "is an example that dialogue and negotiation between administrations and owners can respond to urgent social needs and expand available public resources".
This transfer will allow the flats to be used for social housing, increasing the resources available in Manresa to address residential emergency situations. The action is part of the Government's strategy to increase the supply of affordable and social housing throughout the country, especially in municipalities with greater access difficulties.
The Generalitat and the Manresa City Council will continue to work together to expand public housing in the city and promote new forms of collaboration.
