Joncadella Gathering Celebrates Easter Monday with Music and Tradition

The Joncadella sanctuary, near Sant Martí de Torroella, will host a festive day with Eucharist, breakfast, and sardanas on April 6th.

The traditional Easter Monday gathering at the Joncadella sanctuary, near Sant Martí de Torroella, will offer a day full of religious and cultural activities on April 6th, organized by the Amics de Joncadella.

The Amics de Joncadella association has prepared a new edition of this annual event, which will take place at the sanctuary located next to the village of Sant Martí de Torroella. The celebration, open to all, will extend from morning until mid-afternoon, with the expectation of attracting dozens of people if weather conditions are favorable.
The program will begin at 8 AM with a bell ringing announcing the start of the festivities, followed by a communal breakfast featuring botifarras and toast. The central event, the solemn Eucharist, will start at 10:30 AM and will be presided over by mossèn Manel López, custodian priest of the sanctuary, with concelebration by local priests. The Divina Pastora de Manresa choir will enhance the mass with hymns and a final concert.
After the religious ceremony, sprigs of thyme will be distributed among attendees, followed by a performance by the Dansaires de Sant Joan de la Verbena. In the afternoon, activities will resume at 4:30 PM with a Marian prayer, followed by a sardana dance performed by the Cobla Ciutat de Manresa. This same cobla will be responsible for concluding the gathering with the Cant dels Adéus and a sardana circle of brotherhood.
