A person died this afternoon on January 23, 2026 after choking at Bar Riki's, located on Vilatorrada street in Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, despite the immediate response of emergency services.

The alert regarding the incident was received around 2:30 PM on January 23, notifying authorities of the serious situation occurring at the establishment in the Bages region.
Several emergency units were dispatched to the scene, at Bar Riki's, on Vilatorrada street in Sant Joan de Vilatorrada. Personnel from the Sant Joan de Vilatorrada Local Police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, and the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) attended.
Despite the rapid intervention by medical teams, nothing could be done to revive the victim. According to local sources, as of 5:00 PM, the initial publication time of the news, the removal of the body had not yet been carried out.
