The road freight transport sector in Spain faces a deficit of nearly 30,000 professionals, a factor that has driven up salaries, as demonstrated by the case of truck driver and content creator Alex Tensso.

The lack of generational replacement in freight transport is a structural problem in Spain, where the demand for professional drivers continues to grow. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has long promoted this career path, as it is anticipated that around 30,000 new drivers will be needed in the next three years to maintain sector stability.
A truck driver's salary can vary drastically depending on factors such as experience, whether they are employed or self-employed, the type of route (national or international), and the company. To understand the economic reality, testimonies like that of Alex Tensso, who runs international routes and is a content creator on TikTok, are crucial for detailing net income and the expenses associated with living on the road.

"I have been able to save more than 10,000 € in three months. But the key question is not just 'how much you earn', but what you are willing to sacrifice to earn it."

Tensso detailed his last three paychecks, totaling 12,368 € over three months, averaging over 4,100 € monthly. However, he also revealed the expenses of living away from home, which include internet, showers, laundry, and food, amounting to 1,683 € during the same period.
Despite the high potential earnings, the content creator warns that invoicing is not constant and the personal cost is very high. The sacrifice involves spending many days away from home and maintaining an austere life to truly save, emphasizing that this salary is not easily earned.
