The Notarial College of Catalonia registered an 18.4% increase in the formalization of wills in Central Catalonia, totaling 6,585 documents up to the third quarter of 2025.

Up to September 2025, notaries in Central Catalonia formalized a total of 6,585 wills, a figure representing an 18.4% increase compared to the 5,816 signed the previous year. This data, provided by the Notarial College of Catalonia, shows a generalized upward trend in the territory.
However, the increase was much more modest in the district of the capital of Bages, which includes Manresa, Sallent, Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, Sant Vicenç de Castellet, and Santpedor, with a rise of less than half a percentage point (up to 2,294). In Manresa city, a slight decrease was even recorded, with 1,506 wills, four fewer than in the same period.
Another notarial act that experienced a positive evolution was the donation, which grew by 16.5% year-on-year, reaching 705 operations up to September. In the Manresa district, the total was 254 donations, almost 15% more than the previous year.

Donation can be a good option for transferring assets, as it avoids discussions when dividing inheritances and allows parents to help their children when they are in financial difficulties or facing a major economic change, such as buying a property.

Regarding inheritances resolved in the central counties, 2,781 were registered up to the third quarter of 2025, which is 2.63% less than a year earlier. This decrease was more pronounced in the Manresa district, with a drop of 5.52% (down to 1,045), although in the capital of Bages the reduction was only 1.55%.
