This Saturday, October 10th, Navarcles will host the first edition of La Porcada - Pork Fair in Plaça Anselm Clavé, a day to promote local produce and traditional gastronomy.

The initiative, organized by the Navarcles Town Council with the drive of local restaurateurs and merchants, aims to showcase local produce and traditional cuisine. The fair will take place from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon.
The day will begin with a hearty breakfast at nine in the morning. From ten o'clock, activities will start to learn about the pork product manufacturing process, including practical workshops with local producers on ham carving and derivative elaboration.
At half past eleven in the morning, a talk will be held on biogas as a circular economy model. At midday, the Esbart Dansaire Navarclí (Navarcles Dance Group) will perform traditional folk dances. The fair will conclude with a vermouth and tasting of local pork products, as well as live artisan soap making and stalls selling local produce.
This new fair is supported by the Consell Comarcal del Bages (Bages County Council), the Xarxa de Productes de la Terra (Network of Local Products), the Diputació de Barcelona (Barcelona Provincial Council), and the DO Pla de Bages (Pla de Bages Designation of Origin), as well as various local entities and producers such as Horta Can Calafell, Cansaladeria Singla, and El Rebost Ibèric, among others.
