The Sallent City Council celebrated a new edition of the 'Mes Gran' (Older Adults Month) throughout October, offering 19 special activities to raise awareness about the need for an age-friendly society and promote a safe and dignified old age.

The program, which began on October 1st, International Day of Older Persons, aimed to combat ageism, a form of discrimination based on ageist prejudices and oversimplifications that ignore the diversity of aging experiences.
'Mes Gran' featured a variety of activities including workshops, cultural performances, dance, music, heritage tours, and gatherings. These events sought to highlight the experience, knowledge, cooperation, and support offered by older adults, encouraging participation from all generations and promoting intergenerational socialization.
The organization of 'Mes de la Gent Gran' was managed by the Social Action area of the Sallent City Council, with the collaboration of Fàbrica Vella, the Municipal Music School Cal Moliner, the Sant Bernat Residence, the Casal Dining Hall, the association Guifré el Pelós, and OTP Cabrianes.
