A hundred people gathered on February 1 in the Picarany forest, in Almoster, to stage their rejection of the new High Capacity Transmission Line (MAT) between Aragon and Catalonia.

The protest, organized by the No a la MAT Aragó-Catalunya platform, took place in the municipality of Almoster, in the Baix Camp region. Participants collected signatures in support of their cause.

"There is a lot of opacity; there are still owners who don't know that a tower will be placed in the middle of their property. We want to publicize the project so that as many people as possible can file objections."

These signatures will be attached to the objections that the organization is preparing to submit to both the Ministry and the Catalan Government. The deadline for submitting the documentation is February 25.
According to the entity, having to address two different administrations has caused “a lot of confusion” among those affected regarding the real scope of the electrical interconnection project.
