The piece "Super Heroïna" is the result of a creative exchange between choreographer Arantza Labuena and Carmen Barros, president of the Associació Familiars Alzheimer Costa Daurada, within the "Cartographies of Invisible Movement" project. This initiative, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat with the collaboration of the Cambrils City Council, aims to give visibility to the experiences of migrant individuals through dance.
The presentation will take place in the auditorium of the Centre Cultural de Cambrils with free admission. The "Cartographies of Invisible Movement" project unfolds throughout 2026 across eight Catalan municipalities, proposing shared creation processes between choreography professionals and individuals with migratory experiences.
In Catalonia, the project involves four artists working in pairs of cities. Besides Labuena in Sant Pere de Ribes and Cambrils, participating artists include Guillem Mont de Palol (Lloret de Mar and Figueres), Laura Alcalá Freudenthal (Tàrrega and Sabadell), and Daniel Rosado (El Prat de Llobregat and Juneda). The initiative will culminate in a joint exhibition on October 24th at the Camp de Mart in Tarragona.
This cultural mediation experience has involved research and creation with local individuals, through interviews, bodily explorations, and community workshops, resulting in choreographic solos and artistic archives that document the experience.
The choreography professionals have lived alongside their communities in the municipalities, weaving a network of relationships that transcends the stage and values the diversity and individuals of different ages, origins, cultures, and social realities who have been part of this first edition.
"Cartographies of Invisible Movement" is part of the PRO365 Dansa measure within the II Dance Promotion Plan of Catalonia 2023-2026, led by the Culture Area of the Tarragona City Council and the Association of Dance Professionals of Catalonia - APdC.
