The family cycle 'Diumenges al Teatre' in Cambrils is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special and free program on April 12 at Plaça del Pòsit, featuring five shows for all audiences.

This initiative, established in 2001 by the Department of Culture of the Cambrils City Council in collaboration with the local entity La Teca Teatre, was created to bring performing arts closer to family and children's audiences. Since then, it has transformed Sundays into a shared cultural and leisure event, with support from the Diputació de Tarragona and the Generalitat de Catalunya.

"25 years ago, the cycle became a reality because there was already a company in the Port -La Teca Teatre-, a space managed by the same company -the Teatre del Casal-, and a City Council eager to program."

Oliver Klein · Mayor of Cambrils
The Councillor for Culture, Carlos Caballero, has expressed gratitude for the work of La Teca Teatre and all individuals who have made the cycle's continuity possible over the years. Since its first edition, 'Diumenges al Teatre' has hosted 174 shows from 136 different companies, attracting a total of 32,036 spectators. Among the most memorable works are Receptari and El monstre de colors, while Teatre Nu is the company that has participated the most, with 10 performances.
The 25th-anniversary celebration, taking place at Plaça del Pòsit, will feature a selection of five diverse shows. The day will begin at 11 AM with Girafes by Xirriquiteula Teatre, a visual, wordless street performance, followed by Dokum by HectordelaSA, an itinerant clown act. In the afternoon, the audience can enjoy El Llop Ferotge by the companyia del Príncep Totilau, which humorously reinterprets classic tales, and Hippos by Zum-zum Teatre, a choreographic piece featuring dancing hippos. The event will conclude with Always Drinking Marching Band performing El carrer és nostre, filling the square with music and festive energy. All shows are free of charge.
