Cambrils to Host Health Fair with Inclusive and Solidarity Focus

The event, taking place on the Maritime Promenade, will promote healthy habits and highlight the work of social and health organizations.

The Municipal Health Department of the Cambrils City Council is organizing the Health Fair, an event to be held on Sunday, April 19th, at the Maritime Promenade of the Port of Cambrils, aiming to promote community health and give visibility to local organizations.

This event is the central act of the Inclusive Health Week and seeks to promote healthy habits, as well as recognize the social, assistance, and awareness work carried out by associations linked to various diseases and disorders. The event aims to bring citizens closer to the fundamental role of these entities in supporting affected individuals and their families, disseminating information, promoting prevention, and fostering co-responsibility in collective well-being.
The presentation of the fair was attended by the mayor of Cambrils, Oliver Klein; the Councilor for Health, Equality, and Inclusion, Gemma Balanyà; and the director of the Antoni de Gimbernat Light Hospital of Cambrils, Francesc Margalef, along with representatives of the participating entities. They highlighted the fair as an open space for coexistence, information, and citizen participation, emphasizing the network collaboration between the administration, organizations, and professionals.
The fair will feature informational stands from numerous social and health organizations, which will carry out awareness, advice, and dissemination activities about their services. Participating entities include the Associació Salut Mental Dr. Tosquelles, the Associació de familiars i amics de nens oncològics de Catalunya (AFANOC), the Associació Catalana d'afectades i afectats de fibromiàlgia (ACAF), Swim for ELA, the Lliga contra el càncer, the Associació Familiars d'Alzheimer Costa Daurada (AFA), the Associació d'Autisme Cambrils (TEA), the Associació Acompanyament Càncer de Mama (ACAM), the Associació d'incontinència anal i urinària (ASIA), the Associació per la mutació genètica ADSL (ANTIAN), the Fundació Esclerosi Múltiple (FEM), the Associació Celíacs de Catalunya, Pels Valents, the Fundació Fero, the Associació Contra el Càncer TGN, and the Associació de Discapacitats i Minusvàlids de Tarragona (ADIMDT).
Additionally, there will be health and community services such as the Hospital Lleuger de Cambrils, which will provide information on community health services and the La Meva Salut portal. The Blood Bank will have a bus for donations, the Red Cross will disseminate information about Cambrils as a cardioprotected city and the use of defibrillators, and the Punt Lila Multicolor, managed by the Municipal Equality Area, will offer information and prevention regarding sexist and LGTBIphobic violence.
The day will include a program of participatory activities for the promotion of health and well-being. One of the highlights will be a fashion show of adapted lingerie for women who have suffered breast cancer, designed by Koa Lencería and featuring real models, with makeup by Estética Ilusión.
