The Cambrils City Council will execute an ambitious investment plan of over 2.6 million euros in municipal sports facilities during 2026 to ensure safer, more sustainable, and modern installations.

The investment plan for sports facilities in Cambrils, exceeding 2.6 million euros, aims primarily to enhance the safety, sustainability, and accessibility of municipal spaces. Over 51% of this amount is covered by external funding, including the shock plan from the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Tarragona, and the Next Generation Sustainable Tourism funds.

"This set of actions reinforces the commitment of the council to sport, health and social cohesion, and represents a step forward to modernize key infrastructures that guarantee an efficient response to the current needs of clubs, entities, and users."

Gemma Balanyà · Councilor
Among the actions planned for 2026 are the renewal of the artificial turf on football fields 2 and 3, the installation of new lighting throughout the northern sports area (football fields, athletics track, and archery), and the creation of a "bike park" in the eastern part of the municipality.
Structural improvements will also be carried out, such as the repair of the roof of pavilion 2 and the swimming pool, the construction of a metallic grandstand on the athletics track, and the installation of solar panels on the municipal pavilion. Furthermore, the construction of a multi-purpose sports tent at Mas Clariana and various improvements to the changing rooms are planned.

"Cambrils 'plays hard' in sports. We have a plan, objectives, and a calendar. We know where we want to go and we are laying the foundations for this project to materialize in an orderly and efficient manner."

Oliver Klein · Mayor
In addition to these investments, the construction of the new multi-purpose sports pavilion in the northern sports area is included. The technical teams of the City Council are finalizing the drafting of the executive project, with the intention of processing and tendering the work during the second half of 2026.
