The Cambrils City Council presented in February 2026 the results of a social project focused on residents over 80 years old to improve local welfare policies.

The study, conducted by ADESMA Fundació between October 2025 and January 2026, reached out to a census of 900 elderly people. Through 300 direct interviews, social workers identified key needs regarding mobility and emotional well-being.
Findings highlight a strong desire among the elderly to remain in their own homes. However, many face increasing physical fragility and social isolation. The Welfare Department has already started referring specific cases to Social Services and volunteer organizations.

"We will continue working to guarantee a dignified, safe, and quality aging process for the elderly in Cambrils."
