The Town Council of Castellvell del Camp has initiated the transformation of the old Wine Cellar into a new multipurpose space for cultural, social, and recreational activities, with works scheduled for completion in ten months.

The project, which began to take shape in 2021 when the owners offered the building, materialized with its acquisition by the council in 2023. The aim is for the space to become a cultural center and, simultaneously, a tribute to the municipality's farmers. According to municipal sources, the government has always supported culture.
With an approximate budget of 800,000 euros, the architecture firm PIGAA from Reus has designed the renovation. The project leaders have chosen to preserve and enhance the original facade, dispensing with existing annexes to maintain the building's character.
The main hall will be a rectangular, open-plan, multipurpose space with capacity for around two hundred people and a stage of nearly fifty square meters. It will also feature a bar and restrooms, integrated with reduced height to minimize visual impact and create a warm atmosphere using materials like wood. Insulating curtains will be used for acoustics, with sound panels being discarded for economic and aesthetic reasons.
Access to the facility will be through a square with a gentle ramp, acting as a transition space. The main entrance will lead to a lobby designed as a meeting and filter area, inspired by the concept of a boudoir. From here, different areas will be distributed, including dressing rooms for artists, a bathroom, and storage in the 'backstage'.
The old Wine Cellar, built in 1934 and located on Joan Maragall street, is an emblematic building in the town center. Although the gable roof will need to be replaced, the large wooden beams will be preserved and restored. The new hall will host concerts, theatrical performances, and events such as the arrival of the Three Kings or conferences, offering a dedicated and free space for the municipality's entities.
