Towns such as Alcover, Vilaplana, and Almoster are leading complaints against the utility company Endesa. Local representatives state that these outages are not isolated incidents but occur monthly, causing significant damage to the commercial and industrial sectors. In Alcover, service was interrupted for up to six hours last week, leaving residents without basic services like drinking water.
“"We cannot have these deficiencies. Merchants, the industrial sector, and every citizen are being harmed."
Endesa attributes the incidents to strong winds exceeding 100 km/h and denies any lack of structural investment. Nevertheless, mayors criticize the lack of real-time information, noting that the company's control center often reports no issues while residents have been without electricity for hours.
