The Civil Guard has requested public help to identify the suspect who used the bank card of Magdalena Mas Vilaltella, a resident of Riudoms, murdered in 2005.

The armed institute has released images of the suspect, captured by a surveillance camera in April 2005, when he used the victim's bank card at an office in Terrassa the day after her disappearance. Photographs of the victim and a fragment of a shirt linked to the investigation have also been published.
Magdalena Mas, who was 38 years old at the time, was last seen on April 8, 2005. Her disappearance was reported the following day at the National Police station in Reus. Her remains were located on August 6, 2005, distributed in several plastic bags in a wooded area of Sant Pere Sacama, in the municipality of Olesa de Montserrat, showing clear signs of violent death.

Forensic analysis determined that the woman had a fracture in her left cheekbone, compatible with a blow from a blunt object, as well as an orifice in her right shoulder blade.

The victim could not be identified initially. It was not until 2014, thanks to the Fénix genetic identification program for missing persons, that she was confirmed to be the resident of Riudoms. The investigation remains open and is handled by the Persons Group of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard in Barcelona.
The Civil Guard has provided the telephone number 936 82 30 30 and the email address b-cmd-barcelona-pj-personas@guardiacivil.org for anyone with relevant information to assist in solving the case.
