The La Palma multipurpose hall in Reus hosted the 'De tu a tu' fair on Wednesday, a university guidance day that brought together 550 high school students from eight Baix Camp centers with URV students.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, February 4, was organized by the Oficina Jove del Baix Camp, with the collaboration of the Direcció General de Joventut de la Generalitat, the Consell Comarcal, and the Ajuntament de Reus, through the Youth and Education departments.
“
"The goal is for university students to meet with young people who are about to decide their academic future and allow them to ask questions about the different degrees, the itineraries they present, or even university life."
The La Palma hall was divided into thematic areas according to fields of study (sciences, humanities, engineering, etc.), where attendees could consult detailed information on degrees, professional opportunities, and cut-off marks. The event was primarily aimed at young people in 4th year of ESO, Baccalaureate, and higher vocational training cycles, but was open to all audiences.
“
"The objective is for the URV students themselves to explain the content of the different degrees and provide useful information, peer-to-peer, to contribute to decision-making regarding their training itinerary."
This initiative stems from the eponymous guidance days that the Youth and Education departments of the Ajuntament de Reus have organized for five years. Since 2023, they also have the De tu a tu website, a study guide that compiles the regulated educational offerings after ESO in the municipalities near Reus.
