An analysis of the visibility map prepared by the Catalan Institute for Space Studies (IEEC) reveals that 48% of the Baix Camp region will not be able to directly see the Sun during the astronomical event. The Serra de la Mussara and other mountain elevations to the west will obstruct the view.
At the eclipse's peak moment, scheduled for 8:29 PM, the Sun will be very low on the horizon, only four degrees above it. This orographic circumstance directly affects municipalities such as Botarell, Riudecols, Riudecanyes, Alforja, Vilanova d'Escornalbou, and Vandellòs.
The council of Botarell has disseminated this clarification through its social media channels, following recently published technical data. Until now, the municipality had organized various promotional activities suggesting a complete view of the phenomenon from the town.
To facilitate safe observation of the eclipse, the Generalitat de Catalunya has designated three official viewing points in the region: the Parc de la Festa in Reus, the les Palmeres area in Montbrió del Camp, and the Cooperativa Agrícola in Cambrils. These locations have a clear western horizon and will feature special mobility and capacity control measures.
