The GEPEC environmental group and the Unió de Pagesos union warned this February that the Catalan Government's renewable energy plan poses a lethal threat to farming in Baix Camp.

Critics argue that the PLATER strategic plan fails to comply with climate change laws by not prioritizing artificial or urban areas for energy production. They claim the current model continues to industrialize rural landscapes far from the main points of electricity consumption.

"Energy must be produced in artificial places and close to consumption sites."

In response to a project involving six new wind turbines, the Aturem els Molins platform has organized a protest. The demonstration is scheduled for March 22nd in Montbrió del Camp to demand a revision of the regional energy strategy.
