The Generalitat Firefighters successfully brought under control this Sunday afternoon the forest fire that had broken out in the morning in Capafonts, in Baix Camp, affecting a difficult-to-access area of the Muntanyes de Prades.

The fire, which started around 11:30 AM, was concentrated in a rugged area near the Goi bridge and the Cova de les Gralles. To combat the flames, up to 15 Firefighter units were mobilized, including two aerial units, due to the complexity of the terrain.
Extinction efforts focused on preventing the fire from spreading into ravines with water, primarily using hand tools due to the difficult access. The swift action allowed the situation to be brought under control before 3:30 PM.
Concurrently, the Firefighters were also working on another forest fire in Montargull, within the municipality of La Vansa i Fórnols, in Alt Urgell. For this second front, seven units, one of them aerial, were deployed to extinguish the fire located in the area of the hermitage of Sant Jaume and Sant Marc de Fórnols.
