The municipality of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant has unveiled three new sculptures on its seafront promenade, complementing the cultural route dedicated to the universe of The Little Prince.

Since Saturday, April 25, the seafront promenade of l'Hospitalet de l'Infant features three new sculptures depicting iconic elements from The Little Prince: a fox, a rose, and a boa constrictor digesting an elephant. These pieces are an addition to the cultural itinerary that pays tribute to the universal literary classic.
Each sculpture includes a plaque with QR codes, providing access to excerpts from the book in four different languages. These excerpts have been recorded by primary school students from Escola Mestral, adding a participatory and auditory dimension to the experience.
The origin of this cultural route lies in an aerial incident that connected the author of The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, with the town. In 1932, the writer had to make an emergency landing on one of the municipality's beaches due to strong mistral winds, during a journey between Marseille and Algiers. This event, recently documented through the work of a popularizer and local archives, inspired the creation of the itinerary.
The Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant City Council's intention is to continue expanding this cultural initiative with new artistic proposals. The goal is to invite citizens to delve into this universal literary work and leave a cultural legacy in the municipality.

"Our intention is to leave a legacy in l'Hospitalet de l'Infant. We believe it is a very beautiful story, which has many layers and can be approached from different points of view."
