The 17-year-old dancer Rubén Méndez Luna has won the first prize at the 12th edition of the Roseta Mauri International Dance Prize in Reus, organized by the Tarragona Provincial Council.

Méndez, a student at the Carmen Amaya Conservatory in Madrid, was awarded 5,000 euros and a year of study at the Scuola di Ballo Accademia Teatro Alla Scala di Milano. The competition featured a prestigious jury led by Joaquín de Luz, former director of Spain's National Dance Company.
Catalan dancers Teo Muñoz Fontdegloria and Valentina Llorens Peña took second and third place, respectively. The event concluded on March 14 with a grand gala featuring international performers, including Carlota Batalla, a former finalist now dancing with Introdans in the Netherlands.

"If the prize boosts the careers of the dancers, the gala celebrates their trajectory."
