The Court of Tarragona has sentenced a man to seven years and six months in prison for the murder and subsequent burning of a victim in Reus in October 2023.

During the hearing on February 20, prosecutors agreed to reduce the initial 18-year request following a confession. The convict will also face five years of supervised release and must pay 65,000 euros in civil liability to the victim's family.
The incident occurred in the El Pinar neighborhood following a dispute over debts. After stabbing the victim multiple times, the perpetrator moved the body to a location near Castellvell del Camp, where he used gasoline to burn the remains. He was arrested in Reus after calling emergency services to confess the crime.
