The construction of the new educational center in Maspujols is in its final phase, with the building's structure already completed. This progress represents a decisive step for an initiative that has been long demanded by the local community, which has waited almost twenty years to see it materialize.
Although the initial calendar contemplated a possible relocation at the end of the current academic year, delays caused by recent storms have adjusted the deadlines. Now, the forecast is that the change of facilities can be carried out during the Christmas holidays of 2026, within the last quarter of the year.
“"The works are no longer stopping. We are waiting for them to notify us of a date to go there. All the wood has already been removed and the structure is done. Now it's time to move on to enclosures and interior installations."
The history of this new school dates back to 2008, when educational services were restored in the municipality after two decades without its own center. Initially, students were housed in prefabricated modules, with the promise of a definitive solution that has been long in coming.
After the reclassification of the land in 2014 and the commitment of the Department of Education of the Generalitat in 2017, construction began in 2020. However, the bankruptcy of the construction company in 2021, due to the war in Ukraine, halted the work until 2025. The Generalitat de Catalunya has allocated almost 3 million euros in the 2026 budgets for the completion of the project.
“"We hope to finish them this 2026."
