This past Thursday, May 14th, the Santa Llúcia auditorium in La Selva del Camp was the venue for the presentation of the book Ànima de república, authored by Aleix Sarri. The event, organized by the Col·lectiu 25 d’Abril, filled the hall with an engaging talk rich in anecdotes.

The author detailed the motivations that led him to research the historical period spanning from the death of Martí l’Humà to 1714, central themes of his book. The gathering also served to reflect on the country's political and social evolution over the centuries.

In the book's synopsis, Sarri highlights various key historical episodes and confrontations with the Kingdom of Castile, arguing how these have shaped Catalonia's political and social landscape. Despite the country's historical adversities, the author conveyed a message of hope, advocating for the efforts of generations to achieve "the place that rightfully belongs to us as a people".

Aleix Sarri, a recognized Catalan politician and former International Policy Coordinator for the Department of the Presidency, possesses a solid academic background, holding a degree in Biotechnology and a Master's in International Relations from IBEI. His professional experience includes roles as an assistant and advisor in Brussels and at the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament.
