The Archbishopric of Tarragona and the Royal Congregation of the Puríssima Sang have resolved the conflict that kept the Reus church closed, allowing services to resume this March 8.

Following months of tension involving lock changes and the temporary relocation of services to the Prioral de Sant Pere, both parties have reached an understanding. Archbishop Joan Planellas signed a decree revoking the restrictions issued on December 15, 2025.

"As of Sunday afternoon, pastoral activity can be restored in this parish, as the situation of irregularity has ceased."

The rector of the Puríssima Sang de Reus has already received the keys to the building. This agreement ensures that Holy Week events will proceed as planned in the Baix Camp region.
