The city councils of Reus and Castellvell del Camp started works in 2026 to bury 1.43 kilometers of high-voltage lines to improve the El Pinar residential area.

Excavations began in January to lay underground cabling and remove eight high-voltage towers located near homes. The total investment reaches 3.5 million euros, with 2.4 million provided by the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN).

"The goal is to transform a scar in the city into a walkable and enjoyable space."

Sandra Guaita · Mayor of Reus
The project covers 1.43 kilometers of the 110 kV Reus-Valls line. Completion is expected by January 1, 2028, after which Reus and Castellvell del Camp will collaborate on the final urban redesign of the avenue.

"It has been proven that if politics and citizens work together, things get done."

Josep Manel Sabaté · Mayor of Castellvell del Camp
