The event, organized in collaboration with Repsol, served to formalize the entry of Cervus and Quina Forca into the select group of restaurants distinguished with a Repsol Sun. These additions bring the total number of Council members, which also includes establishments with Michelin Stars, to twenty, consolidating it as a platform of prestige and knowledge for Tarragona's gastronomy.
“"We are very excited about the growth of this Expert Council created eight years ago. Our cuisine is experiencing its best moment."
The Council's coordinator, Manel Ortiz, emphasized the importance of this body as a 'backbone of culinary talent' and 'a space that promotes the knowledge and experience of the great chefs of the territory'. This momentum is also reflected in Tarragona's designation as the host city for the Repsol Suns Gala 2026, an event that, according to Pintado, 'has projected us throughout Spain and the world'.
One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of the new chef jacket, a creation by the Cambrils artist David Callau. This piece, with its expressive forms and chromaticism, symbolizes the collective's identity, cohesion, and excellence, evoking the creative energy of contemporary cuisine. Callau performed a live painting inspired by the jacket's design.
The meeting at Casa Navàs, a modernist jewel of Reus, also served to highlight the complementarity between industry and tourism. Javier Sancho, director of the Repsol Industrial Complex in Tarragona, stressed that 'chemistry and hospitality share the same philosophy of teamwork, innovation, and commitment to quality'. For her part, the mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, highlighted the city's 'commercial activism' and the link between heritage and local gastronomy.
