The problem became evident following a reader's complaint, who reported that the municipal sports center Ciutat de Reus lacked hot water. Municipal sources explained that the breakdowns are “specific cases” and assured that user entities have been informed so they can notify their members.
These are specific cases coinciding in time and originating from different causes.
Regarding the Ciutat de Reus sports center, the lack of service is due to the failure of the previous boiler. The council is currently processing the order for the new unit to restore service as soon as possible.
Another incident affects the facilities at the La Pastoreta football field, where the problem lies with a safety electrovalve that was damaged during an attempted theft of the copper pipe. Without this shut-off valve, gas cannot be supplied. The part was requested at the end of December and its arrival is pending.
Finally, the City Council also reported that a recent incident at the municipal stadium annex, where the safety valve tripped, has already been resolved.
