The Reus City Council and the Formació i Treball foundation collected 302,196 kilograms of second-hand clothes during 2025 using 61 containers distributed throughout the city.

The collected garments are sent to the treatment plant in Sabadell, where 50% is reused through Moda re- solidarity stores. Another 40% is processed for advanced recycling using Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technology, which allows for precise fiber identification and promotes high-quality recycling.

"The involvement of citizens in generating a circular economy and social inclusion opportunities improves their environment."

This social model creates one job for every 31,300 kilograms collected, supporting people at risk of social exclusion. The initiative complies with Law 7/2022 on waste management and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
