The Mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, announced that the Fortuny Theater will reopen its doors this Thursday, February 5th, after successfully passing all required electrical and fire safety inspections.

The theater had been closed since February 10th as a precautionary measure. The reopening features a performance by Camerata XXI. Culture Councilor Daniel Recasens emphasized the swift action taken to protect the season's artistic schedule while ensuring public safety remained the top priority.

"We are tenants of the theater and therefore, everything that can be done for maintenance, we will continue to do."

Future plans for the venue include a major million-euro renovation of the roof in collaboration with the building's owner, El Círcol. The theater's budget has seen steady growth, reaching over 1.17 million euros in 2026, funded by the Tarragona Provincial Council, the Reus City Council, and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
