Reus Lights the Flame for the 44th School Olympics with 2,000 Participants

The Municipal Olympic Pavilion in Reus will host the opening ceremony of the 44th School Olympics on February 24th, an event bringing together 2,000 primary school students.

The main event starts at 7:00 PM featuring captains from 49 educational centers. The Olympic torch will travel from the Town Hall through the city's most iconic streets to the pavilion for the lighting of the cauldron and the raising of the Olympic flag.
Official competitions will take place from March 2nd to 20th. Students from 3rd to 6th grade across Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre will compete in twelve sports, including athletics, swimming, chess, and rhythmic gymnastics.
