The Reus City Council has initially approved the construction of an 800-meter mountain bike (MTB) circuit near the Municipal Stadium, aiming to promote physical activity and healthy habits among citizens.

This initiative, located on Recasens i Mercader street, seeks to enrich the outdoor sports and leisure options available in the town. The new route, which will span municipal land, will incorporate a variety of technical elements designed to offer an attractive and functional experience for users.
Planned features include banked turns (berms), a rock garden area, acceleration zones, an elevated starting platform, trenches, dirt cords, and a jump area known as dubbies. Additionally, the project includes the creation of a specific start and finish area, along with a dedicated access point to the circuit.
The main tasks for the circuit's construction will involve earthworks, the opening and regularization of the track—which will have a minimum width of three meters—and mechanical compaction work. These actions are crucial to ensure both rider safety and the durability of the facility. The estimated execution cost for the project, including VAT, amounts to 9,906.51 euros.
