Reus reduces conventional crime by 9.7% in 2025

The Tarragona region records an overall decrease in crime despite a rise in drug trafficking cases.

The city of Reus ended 2025 with a 9.7% reduction in conventional crimes, following the downward trend observed across the Tarragona province.

According to the Ministry of the Interior report released this Thursday, the region recorded 38,297 conventional crimes, a 5.1% decrease compared to the previous year. Homicides saw a significant drop of 60%, falling from fifteen to six cases.
Locally, Salou led the decline with a 19.8% drop, followed by Vila-seca at 11.7% and Reus. In contrast, Valls saw an 11.9% increase, with home burglaries and drug trafficking offenses doubling over the year.
Despite the general improvement, sexual freedom crimes rose by 12.5% across the region. Additionally, drug trafficking increased by 7.1%, totaling 540 recorded incidents in 2025.
