The Association of Student Families of the Escola Prat de la Riba in Reus calls for a mobilization on Friday, February 6, on Avinguda President Companys to demand the immediate pacification of the school environment.

The Association of Student Families (AFA) of the Escola Prat de la Riba has decided to resume protest actions against what they consider the “silence” of the Reus City Council regarding their safety and pacification requests, which have been ongoing for three years.

This academic year alone, we have requested three meetings to learn about the execution plan for the works and the commissioning of the bollard, without receiving a response.

The new mobilization is scheduled for next Friday, February 6, at 3:55 PM on Avinguda President Companys. The AFA believes that the deadlines set for the execution of the works, including the installation of the bollard on Avinguda Prat de la Riba, are excessively long, jeopardizing the safety and health of the children.
The association's demands have broad institutional and professional support, including the Sindicatura de Greuges de Catalunya (Ombudsman of Catalonia), the Sindicatura de Reus, and the Catalan Society of Pediatrics. All these entities endorse the urgent need to reduce pollution and noise to ensure safe school environments.
The protest day on February 6 will combine demands with a popular snack and the Taronjada Solidària (Solidarity Orange Initiative), whose funds will be allocated to associations for rare diseases. The AFA demands that the City Council negotiate immediately, present the budget, and execute the permanent pacification without further delays.
