The Emotional and Mental Well-being Guidance and Support Service (SOABEM) of the Reus City Council assisted 165 people during 2025, marking the highest number of users since its launch in November 2023.

The free municipal service, created to offer a space for listening and professional support, has assisted a total of 292 people in just over a year. This upward trend is confirmed by the increase in attendance: from the three registered in 2023, it rose to 124 in 2024 and to 165 in the last year, according to the balance presented by the Councilor for Health and Sports.

"It is a gateway. The goal of the service is not to replace other specialized devices, but to facilitate and accompany people in complex situations."

Martín · Councilor for Health and Sports
Regarding the user profile, 77% of those attended are women, and the majority age group is between 25 and 60 years old. However, in 2025, a significant increase in young people aged 18 to 25 has been detected and, for the first time, requests for attention from minors have been registered.
SOABEM reinforces its work with a network of 91 resources (23 internal and 68 external) to make tailored referrals. Furthermore, emotional well-being promotion actions have multiplied, increasing from 6 initiatives in 2024 to 44 in 2025, including projects such as Projecte Oxigen or Camins Conscients.

"It is important to remember that asking for help is an act of responsibility."

Martín · Councilor for Health and Sports
Looking ahead to 2026, the Reus City Council has announced a far-reaching information campaign to publicize the service to all citizens, with presence in media, municipal social networks, and street furniture, seeking the consolidation of the project.
