The Reus City Council began work this Tuesday to create 886 new park-and-ride spaces, a move that will bring the city's total to 1,501 free spots during the current term.

Construction has started on Comunitat de Múrcia street, where municipal crews are preparing a lot that will offer 75 spaces outside the Low Emission Zone (ZBE). Public Way Councilor Daniel Marcos explained that the project includes road repairs and new pedestrian crossings on Rioja street.

"The goal is to expand free parking areas to meet residents' needs and provide alternatives for visitors."

Additionally, the city expects to open a new 220-space parking lot in the Dyna industrial estate this spring. With a budget of 56,284.21 euros, Councilor Josep Baiges noted this is the first time a local industrial area will feature such a facility to support business activity.
