Reus Viu el Vi, the fair of the Designation of Origin (DO) of the Cambra territory, reaches its 16th edition on June 5th, 6th, and 7th. This year, twenty wineries will participate in the event, most of them under the umbrella of the Reus Chamber of Commerce: DO Conca de Barberà, DO Montsant, DOQ Priorat, DO Terra Alta, DO Tarragona, and DO Catalunya. Wineries from DO Cava and a guest from DO Penedès will also be present. Additionally, ten vermouth brands, eight from the Cambra territory and two new ones, will complete the offering. In total, nearly 150 references of wines and vermouths will be available for tasting.
The fair will feature participation from wineries such as Agrícola Corbera d’Ebre, Celler Batea, Cingles Blaus, Coca i Fitó, Enovitis, Celler Mas de la Creu, Maset, Celler Rendé Masdéu, Cellers Unió, among others. The exhibition will also include a gastronomic selection with establishments like Jaleo, Tapeo de carrer, A Cullerades, and Forn Sistaré.
The fair's opening hours will be Friday 5th from 6 PM to 10 PM; Saturday 6th from 12 PM to 2:30 PM and from 6 PM to 10 PM; and Sunday 7th from 12 PM to 2:30 PM and from 6 PM to 9 PM. Access will require the purchase of a specific pack for each time slot, including a wine glass, holder, tastings, a hat, and a program, with prices ranging from €11 to €17 for wine packs, and €10 to €15 for vermouth packs. Advance purchase will be available through the official website.
The 7th Reus Vermouth Showcase will take place on Saturday and Sunday midday, featuring brands such as Cori, Miró, Yzaguirre, Dos Déus Vermouth, and Padró i Família. The official inauguration will be on Friday, June 5th, at 6 PM, led by the president of the Diputació de Tarragona, Noemí Llauradó, with the presence of the Xiquets de Reus castellers group.
The event will also include activities such as DJ sets, with a special performance by Miqui Puig on Sunday afternoon, and workshops for children. Prior to the fair, two tastings have been organized: a wine tasting on May 25th at Espai Llotja and a vermouth tasting on June 1st at the Fira Centre Comercial.
The president of the Reus Chamber of Commerce, Mario Basora, highlighted the objective of promoting the region's agri-food wealth. The mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, emphasized the fair's established place in the city's calendar. The Councilor for City Projection, Noemí Llauradó, stressed the aim to create a more family-friendly fair that fosters synergies with local restaurants. Judith Folch, owner of the Agrícola de Corbera d’Ebre winery, positively assessed the fair's current location in Parc de Sant Jordi.
