Seven and a half years in prison for man who killed and burned acquaintance in Reus

The Tarragona Court has sentenced a man to seven years and six months in prison for the murder of another individual on October 14, 2023, in Reus, following a sentencing agreement.

The incident took place in the El Pinar residential area after a dispute over debts. The perpetrator stabbed the victim multiple times and later attempted to hide the body inside his home. He also tried to clean the crime scene on the public road.

"He died due to penetrating traumatic injuries to the thoracic cavity resulting in hemothorax, compatible with a white weapon wound."

The convict used gasoline to burn the body before calling 112 emergency services to confess. This act led to a significant reduction in his sentence. He must also pay 65,000 euros in compensation to the victim's family.
