Taller Baix Camp and Mas Carandell in Reus have joined forces to launch the third edition of a dual vocational training program, which trains eight students in the care of people with intellectual disabilities, with an employment contract from the outset.
This initiative, spanning twelve months, includes 657 hours of theoretical and practical training. Participants are hired to work in the entity's four residential homes, combining five hours of duties as monitors with three hours of daily training.
The main novelty of this edition is the collaboration with Mas Carandell, which allows for a deeper understanding of fundamental aspects of the daily activities of Taller Baix Camp users. The goal is to create a pool of qualified professionals to meet future staffing needs at the center.
“
"Students work from the very first day they start training with an employment contract. In this way, students work in the four residential homes that the center has to put into practice the knowledge learned in the classroom."
Of the sixteen participants in previous editions, 60% found employment within the third sector, demonstrating the program's success. After a selection process with about seventy applications, eight students have been chosen who aim to obtain the Professional Certificate Level 3 in Promotion and Socio-educational Intervention with People with Disabilities.
Furthermore, thanks to the alliance with Mas Carandell, additional social care training is offered to obtain the partial professional certificate Level 2 in socio-sanitary care for dependent people in social institutions.
“
"The alliance between the municipal institute for training and business Mas Carandell and Taller Baix Camp is a commitment to job placement and vocational training among young people."
