The Territorial Urbanism Commission of Camp de Tarragona has issued an unfavorable report against the six-turbine wind farm project proposed by Tesera Energia and Mevak Energia in the Baix Camp area.

The body considers that the six planned wind turbines in the Plana del Baix Camp will be "visual milestones" leading to the loss of "social and cultural values" associated with the rural landscape, affecting the municipalities of Montbrió del Camp, Riudecanyes, and Mont-roig del Camp.

They represent a severe landscape impact because they cannot be integrated with compensatory physical measures.

The promoters, Tesera Energia and Mevak Energia, plan to install the turbines between Riudecanyes and Montbrió del Camp, with evacuation lines affecting Mont-roig del Camp. The plan includes a high-voltage line to the substation of the chemical industrial complex in la Pobla de Mafumet (Tarragonès).
The Urbanism Commission points out that this proposal could utilize other closer infrastructures, specifically referring to two substations in Reus and Cambrils. The report, issued this January, stresses that the installation "does not provide an improvement of traditional life systems" and "breaks the harmony" of the existing landscape.
The local councils of Montbrió del Camp, Riudecanyes, Vinyols i els Arcs, Botarell, and Riudoms have rated this initial resolution "very positively." In early December, the platform Paramos los molinos had already collected 2,500 signatures against the implementation of the project.
