Wind alert in Baix Camp with gusts exceeding 90 km/h

Civil Protection has triggered the VENTCAT emergency alert as severe winds are expected to hit the Baix Camp region and southern Catalonia starting this Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, wind speeds could surpass 90 km/h in Baix Camp and reach up to 108 km/h in Baix Ebre and Montsià. the storm is expected to be particularly intense from Wednesday night until Thursday morning, also affecting high altitudes in the Pyrenees and the Empordà region.
Authorities have also warned of dangerous sea conditions in northern Catalonia, with waves potentially exceeding 2.5 meters. Residents are advised to secure outdoor furniture, avoid wooded areas due to falling branches, and exercise extreme caution when driving, especially during lateral maneuvers.
