Construction work for underground electrical cables with trenches in an urban area.

The Reus City Council and Castellvell del Camp started construction work this February to move high-voltage power lines underground in the Pinar residential area.

The project involves dismantling eight electrical towers: six in Reus and two in Castellvell del Camp. The total budget is 3.5 million euros, largely funded by the ICAEN.

"This is an action demanded by citizens for over 50 years. It is a historical debt."

Sandra Guaita · Mayor of Reus
Workers are currently digging trenches for the new underground cables. Once the lines are moved, the towers will be demolished. The project is expected to be completed by December 31, 2027.

"It has been proven that if we work together, things eventually get done."

Josep Sabaté · Mayor of Castellvell del Camp
