Josep Masdeu Isern formalized his resignation as councilor of the La Selva del Camp City Council last Saturday, January 31, concluding a 35-year career in municipal politics.

The extraordinary plenary session, held on Saturday, January 31, served to formalize Masdeu's departure from the corporation, thus beginning his retirement phase. Of the 35 years dedicated to local politics, he served ten as mayor of the municipality.
The plenary session filled the hall to capacity with a large attendance of friends, family, and representatives of his party, the PSC, in an event of great symbolism and institutional recognition.

The central theme of his speech was gratitude for the trust placed by the residents and recognition of the service vocation of the council workers.

Masdeu also highlighted the complicity and good understanding with his party colleagues and with the different governing partners he has had throughout his extensive political career.
At the end of the event, the current mayor of La Selva del Camp, Enric Roberto, presented Josep Masdeu with the town's shield, as a sign of institutional gratitude for his dedication and service to the municipality for over three decades.
